He looked up at the top of Elephant Mountain. He intended to climb onto the raised head, entering through its mouth that was open as if waiting for him. To prevent any accidents, he didn't use space-traversing techniques because of worries about triggering scary traps or offensive formations.

After resting for a while, his tension dissipated, and he carefully controlled the divine energy inside him to lift his body into the air. He wanted to try reaching that raised head gently, but just as he floated up, a huge force of pressure descended upon him, pressing him to the ground and burying his body into the mud.

"What's happening" Shen Xiang was terrified by this sudden intense pressure, unable to move as his face dug into the dirt. He tried to struggle but couldn't turn or stand up.

After a moment, the pressure lifted, and Shen Xiang was finally able to sit up. He panted heavily from his earlier struggle against the force pressing him down, feeling like he had been trapped by a powerful adversary.

"Am I supposed to climb" Shen Xiang looked up at the sky, his initial notions of a shortcut vanishing. He had already experienced that mysterious and powerful force earlier.

Elephant Mountain's surface was very smooth, with no footholds for climbing. Climbing up here wouldn't be easy but would just seem impossible from his position now, so he planned to circle the mountain first looking for any easier spots to climb. Otherwise, he would definitely spend an extended time trying.

Before completing the circle, he found a staircase that was straight up on the mountain's legs. It seemed to lead directly to the top, but it had many steps, which weren't much of a challenge for him.

He took a few deep breaths and continued climbing, trying his best to step forward despite the weight on his shoulders. Sweat dripped down from him as he pushed through.

At five hundred steps, he was too exhausted to continue. He sat down and rested, planning to resume once he recovered.

He took out several Sacred Stones, quickly absorbing the pure sacred essence within to restore his energy. He had only been resting for a moment when he frowned, looking down at the steps and counting carefully. He was actually still on step four hundred and fifty, realizing that he must have only climbed another hundred steps in the time he thought had passed.
